Noyo Fisheries Trust is led by a Board of Directors representing various aspects of commercial fisheries and commercial-fishing interests. We are currently adding members to our Board.

Michelle Norvell
President
Michelle Norvell is the President of Noyo Fisheries Trust and makes her home in Fort Bragg. Her family has been a part of California's fishing industry for three generations, and as such, she brings an intimate knowledge of the industry and costal communities. Michelle combines her knowledge of California fisheries with her paralegal experience to help steer the direction Noyo Fisheries Trust and oversee its day to day activies.

Tanisha Norvell
Executive Director
Tanisha joined the trust as our Executive Director. Having been born and raised in Fort Bragg, California, Tanisha understands the importance of reliable and consistent access to resources for the local industry to thrive. In 2017 she graduated from California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Science. In 2020 she obtained her Master of Science in Agriculture Science Education. Tanisha’s formal education in Agriculture and experience as an educator provide her with a unique perspective and skill set that will serve the Trust.

Tanisha has generations of family members who have made a living as fishermen in the Fort Bragg community. She is thrilled to continue this family tradition and serve the Groundfish fisherman along the North Coast and the community.

Carol Millsap
Treasurer & Secretary
Carol is the Treasure and Secretary Board Member, with a distinct focus on community engagement and philanthropic endeavors. She utilizes her financial expertise to ensure prudent resource allocation for conservation, research, and community initiatives. Complementing this, Emily champions transparent communication and collaboration, emphasizing unity among members and stakeholders. Her community-minded approach significantly strengthens the trust's impact along the Northern California coast, fostering sustainability and embodying the values of giving and active involvement.

Sharon Davis

In the wake of Sharon's unexpected departure, our community bears the weight of the loss of an extraordinary individual—a dear friend, devoted mother, unwavering community advocate, and an inspiration to us all. Her absence is profoundly felt, reminding us of the remarkable imprint she left behind.
